On any given day, there is a beautiful place in paradise on the barrier island of Perdido Key, FL, that is filled with happy people that are letting the good times roll on island time! That unique place in paradise is the famous Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaurant and Marina, which is ideally located by water at Marker 31 on the Intracoastal Waterway six miles east of the Alabama/Florida state line or by land at 13700 River Road. In addition to the accessible location, the business offers a panoramic view of the Intracoastal Waterway and tropical environs of the barrier island.
Hailing from Hattiesburg, MS, originally, Emile Petro, Jr., and his wife, Zoe, own and operate this popular Marina and Restaurant business. The couple, who have known each other since grade school, beamingly boast of two children, Penny and Emile, III, and seven grandchildren. They profess that they are also proud of what they have accomplished as a hard-working, dedicated family business team at this exceptional site on the Emerald Coast. In fact, their son, Emile Petro, III, operates the family’s successful Brokerage & New Yacht Sales company named Edgewater Yacht Sales.
The Oyster Bar Restaurant consistently provides great, reasonably-priced food, including seafood, steaks and chicken that are prominent on the menu. Zoe Petro, explains, The Oyster Bar Restaurant offers quality service in a very clean, family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our Head Chef, Day Albesa, who has been associated with the Restaurant for almost two decades, prepares numerous signature dishes that can be grilled, blackened, broiled, fried or steamed for your personal, palette-pleasing delight. His Oysters Rockefeller is a particular favorite of our patrons. Emile Petro, Jr. adds, we use only domestic shrimp and fresh catches from the local markets....Jaime del Campo is our General Manager, Wendy Doggett serves as our Floor Manager and Monica del Campo provides floor management assistance....We offer both indoor and outdoor dining and bar areas. Our wrap-around deck with the scenic tropical views beckons many of our guests. Edgewater Yacht Sales, which is situated at the full-service Marina as well, specializes in selling both Luhrs & Regal cruising and fishing boats. The business offers a variety of styles and sizes as well as previously owned vessels. Further, Emile, III, was the youngest person to become a licensed yacht broker in the State of Florida. He, in turn, is blessed to have his wife, Jill, who also provides support for the business, and daughter, Anna, who like her Father, enjoys art. Look for Emile, III’s, exquisite artwork in the Restaurant, featuring marine life indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico.
